I remember being so shocked to have won a BAFTA that I actually congratulated myself and forgot my partners name, I live with him so that's pretty bad.

I received my BAFTA CRAFT TV AWARD for 'VAN GOGH' in 1991. The awards were presented by HRH Princess of Wales; the president of BAFTA.; a glittering occasion @ St.David's Hall, Wales.

BAFTA have always been the thing I most look forward to watching in award season, so to now be a film student and be able to attend the Television Awards was beyond magical... One day, I just hope to be able to enter via the nominee registration instead!

Being a big Eddie Redmayne fan for many years we had to be there for when he was nominated for his Best Actor nomination for The Theory Of Everything. We made a huge banner wishing him the best of luck! Think he was well chuffed when he saw it!! It worked though as he won!

I was lucky enough to attend the BAFTA Film awards in 2013 and the BAFTA Television awards in 2014. On both occasions I got to meet a number of stars including Bradley Cooper, George Clooney, Martin Freeman, Tom Hiddleston, Sophie Turner, Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter (that's just to name a few!). I am thankful every day that BAFTA offers the opportunity for fans to wait outside and meet their idols and because of this I got to meet just a small number of mine.

The BAFTAs, both TV or film, have been definite must-go events for me for the past few years. I got the chance to talk to my favourite actors and directors and tell them how much their work means to me and to what extent it has influenced me. Also, these events have been opportunities to make new friends who have become important figures in my life.

I first attended a BAFTA award ceremony in 1979 (the 1978 awards) with my father Bill Rowe and the rest of the family. A few films he had worked on were nominated but he wasn't that year. He went on to win 3 BAFTAs and an Oscar for sound..I found the programme the other day and it also contained some autographs..no selfies in those days!

I was a judge at the Children's BAFTA Awards in 2014. Not only was it a privilege - and great fun - to serve on the committee with so many distinguished luminaries, it was also fantastic to attend the ceremony and meet TV legends such as Sir David Attenborough, Biddy Baxter and Steve Backshall!
