Which REPAIR tactic is being used in the following scenario? Jamie is annoyed that her boyfriend hasn't called to tell her he has to work late. But when he does finally call, she tries to focus on the positive and says she's proud of him for being such a hard worker. A.engage
B.pose
C.affirm
D.integrate
E.risk

Answers

Hi!

The correct answer would be C. Affirm

Explanation:

There are 6 main forms of repair tactics:

  1. Recognize : this is used to recognize the root/cause of the difficulty of a situation
  2. Affirm : this tactic involves focusing on the positive aspects, and disregarding the negative ones. Say, looking at the good side of a situation.
  3. Pose : this deals with putting forth or suggesting solutions to problems at hand
  4. Risk : this tactic focuses on putting an effort to maintain the relationship when it feels one-sided.
  5. Integrate: this entails that application of the solutions proposed into effect.
  6. Engage : this relationship repair tactic deals with communication between the concerned people

In our case, Jamie chooses to focus on the positive aspect of her situation that her boyfriend is hardworking, and not the negative side of the solution which is that due to the workload, Jamie's boyfriend forgot to tell her. This is an example of affirmation.

Hope this helps!

White Fang goes through many changes in Chapter 1. Write two to three sentences describing what these changes reveal about who White Fang is.

Answers

White Fang - White Fang is the main character of the book. His mother was half wolf, half dog. His father was full wolf. He starts his life in the wild, but becomes more and more of a dog after he and Kiche, his mother, go to the Indian camp. He is naturally quite strong and agile, but other dogs and humans are mean to him so he turns these skills into fighting skills, becoming fierce and unloved. It is only when he meets Scott, the first human to ever show kindness to him, that his character changes and he becomes a loving dog.

Answer: White Fang is a curious and playful dog who is also part wolf. At times he is wild, but he begins to respect humans and learns that he must be careful around other dogs.

Random Questions
Geocaching by J. Robbins It has been many years since pirates sailed the open seas to search for buried treasure. However, modern day geocachers are taking up where their treasure-loving ancestors left off. Geocaching is an outdoor sport in which participants search for hidden treasures, or caches, using Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Most caches contain logbooks and small items wrapped in waterproof material. The sport of geocaching is enjoyed in over 100 countries today. Most often, geocaching takes place in urban areas where many people have access to the caches. A geocacher will bury a cache in a strategic location and record the GPS coordinates on a Web site. Other geocachers will then use their own GPS technology to search out the cache. Once the cache is found, they will record their names in the cache's logbook. Geocachers may keep the items in the cache on the condition that they replace them with other items of equal or greater value. As technology has grown more sophisticated, so has geocaching. One modern twist on the concept of geocaching is webcam caching. Rather than post GPS coordinates, a webcam cacher will post the location of a public access webcam. Other cachers must have their picture taken by the webcam to register their find. Another unique form of geocaching is called a Cache-In, Trash-Out Event, in which geocachers gather to both find caches and clean up the trash in their community. Geocaching is a fun, challenging outdoor sport that provides both excitement and a hint of old-fashioned treasure hunting. 2 Select the correct answer. Based on the information in this passage, which activity is most similar to geocaching? A. competitive freestyle skiing B. synchronized team swimming C. remote-controlled car racing D. cross-country track racing
