When Dorothy was left alone she began to feel hungry. So she went to the cupboard and cut herself some bread, which she spread with butter. She gave some to Toto, and taking a pail from the shelf she carried it down to the little brook and filled it with clear, sparkling water. Toto ran over to the trees and began to bark at the birds sitting there. Dorothy went to get him, and saw such delicious fruit hanging from the branches that she gathered some of it, finding it just what she wanted to help out her breakfast. Then she went back to the house, and having helped herself and Toto to a good drink of the cool, clear water, she set about making ready for the journey to the City of Emeralds.

What point of view is used in the excerpt?

A)first-person protagonist
B)third-person omniscient
C)second person
D)first-person observer

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: I think the answer is B
Answer 2
Answer: It's B. third person because the narrator uses words describing someone or something else such as she, he, they, and it. The omniscient part explains private things that a normal narrator wouldn't go into such as private thoughts, secrets, and even hidden events. In this text, The narrator uses words such as she, herself, and him along with Dorothy thinking that the fresh fruit would be perfect for breakfast so that is why I believe that the answer is B.

during the prewriting step of the writing process, you should _____ ideas and then _____ them. a. revise; write b. write; revise c. develop; organize d. organize; develop

Answers

The correct answer is C.
This is because when you are PREWRITING you are creating/developing ideas about what you are going to write. Then you move on to organizing those ideas. It is practically the planning. The WRITING step is the 2nd step of the 5, where you have your planning done and you use what you have planned to do a rough draft. The REVISION step is where you add things, rearrange things, remove things and replace things from your writing. In the EDITING step you check for repetition, clarity, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Editing is an extremely detailed process and its best when performed by a professional because it needs to be done correctly or a mistake(s) may be left in the draft. The PUBLISHING step of the writing is where you have finally completed the final draft and are ready to become a published author. That is the 5-step writing process.

What advice would you give to the author of the above message? a. Save the good news until the end to build anticipation
b. Use a comma after the greeting to be more friendly.
c. Give readers the good news immediately.

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is c. Give readers the good news immediately.

Explanation:

The message mentioned in the question is a type of apology presented to the customer. The opening sentence implies that there is some bad news. It would be better if the author would have presented the good news first because that would keep the readers involved and persuade them to read the text further.

Giving good news first gives a positive impression to the readers and compels them to read the text till the end.

What are the types of Sentences?

Sentences may be broken down into four categories: simple, compound, complicated, and compound-complex. Independent and dependent clauses, conjunctions, and subordinators are used to define each sentence.

An independent clause without a conjunction or a dependent clause is a simple sentence. Compound sentences are made up of two separate clauses that are connected by a conjunction (e.g., and, but, or, for, nor, yet, so).

One independent clause and at least one dependent clause make up a complicated sentence. Conjunctions and subordinators, words that enable the dependent clauses to link to the independent clause, are used to join the clauses of a complicated phrase. Subordinators can relate to the independent clause's subject (who, which), time/sequence (since, while), or causal components (because, if).

Multiple independent clauses and at least one dependent clause are seen in compound-complex sentences. There will be subordinators as well as conjunctions in these sentences.

The model or theory that suggests that behavior is shaped by one's intention to act or not act, and that intentions are shaped attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control is ________.

Answers

Answer:

The model or theory that suggests that behavior is shaped by one's intention to act or not act, and that intentions are shaped attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control is the theory of planned behavior.

Explanation:

The theory of planned behavior seeks to explain any health behavior over which the individual has control. It believes that behavior is determined directly by a person's intention of performing it. In other words, a number of factors influence a person's decision when it comes to a certain behavior, such as pressure from family or society, the belief that changing that behavior will be easy or difficult, the belief in one's own capacity to do it etc.
